Dear Beloved Members of Congregation Beth Judea,
As we continue to follow the horrors going on in Israel, we are so fortunate to have Dr. Asaf Romirowsky join us tomorrow evening, Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. to help us better understand the dynamics and nuances fueling this war, as well as continue to educate us on ways to help and support Israel. He will be on Zoom from Philadelphia and interact with those attending in-person and remotely. Our conversation will be guided by Dr. Romirowsky’s most recent article entitled, Hamas and the Immorality of the “Decolonial” Intellectuals. Please click HERE to read, print, or share Dr. Romirowsky’s article. CBJ will provide a limited number of printed articles for those who attended in-person and do not bring their own copies. Dr. Romirowksy is the Executive Director of the Association for the Study of Middle East and Africa (ASMEA) and Scholars for Peace in the Middle East (SPME), as well as an international political commentator and author.
This conversation will be political in nature; however, Dr. Romirowksy is first and foremost a Jew who believes Jews and non-Jews alike must have an unwavering support of Israel. Please remember that we are one congregational family, and the program will not be a forum for partisan politics. Collectively, we must work together to provide Israel with anything she needs to protect herself, by herself, from the evils of Hamas, Hezbollah, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), and ultimately, Iran. And together, we stand in condemnation of all forms of anti-Semitism, anti-Zionism, and Jew-hatred that continue to grow locally, nationally, on college campuses, around the world, and the organizations that represent them.
I hope to see you tomorrow night. Evening minyan will begin at 6:30 p.m. prior to the program.
Am Yisrael Chai,
Rabbi Zimbalist
